Dwight has a personal connection to the mission Capturing Aguinaldo recounts: his father’s father was the first sergeant of the Marine Guard aboard the gunboat that transported Funston’s expeditionary force to and from the raid. Like his grandfather, Dwight served in the Marine Corps, retiring as a Reserve colonel. His most prominent assignment was as chief defense counsel of the military commission system at Guantanamo Bay. He is now a civilian lawyer at the Pentagon and an adjunct faculty member at George Washington University Law School.*
Dwight lives on Maryland's Broadneck Peninsula. He can be reached at dwight.sullivan@capturingaguinaldo.com.
